1970 Gibson J-250R #AC-1218
Year: 1970
Manufacturer: Gibson
Model: J-250R
Case: Original Hard
Color: Natural #AC-1218
Condition: Excellent
This is an interesting guitar. Gibson shipped around 20 in the early 1970′s and this is the earliest we have seen (okay, we’ve only seen one other). The “orange label” is unusual (no “Union Made”) and the serial number places it as being made in 1970. Three piece rosewood back (middle section looks Brazilian) – the other one we’ve seen had a two-piece back. Has a volute, “Made in USA” and stamped serial# on back of headstock along with a “BGN” stamp. There appears to have been a small cracked on the top right under the bridge that has been repaired.

No scratches, ding, chips, etc. Sounds great and is nice and loud, exactly what you would expect from a J-200.
